Tessa Newman

My name is Tessa Newman, and I am an artist. I have been drawing since I was in grade school, started to paint in high school, and went to LaGuardia community In order to study new media technology. Usually my art is usually inspired by a more creepy and mystical aspect. I enjoy creating things that will make people say either “wow” or “that is weird”. I was heavily influenced by Tim burton, warped reality, weed, and my favorite being universe inspired art. I could draw Saturn forever if I could. I was also influenced by my grandmother to become an artist. She always had the most beautiful drawings and she showed me that I had talent as well. I truly hope to have a café/art gallery someday named Lydia after her.

When I start my art, I always must have my surroundings in a particular way. I make sure everything is in tip top shape, then I lay out everything, play music, and get started. Its not all the time I get inspired so when I do I take advantage as much as possible. After I graduate, I want to get my tattoo license. I have been very interested in doing tattoos and want to dive into that world very soon. I also realized I am really good at creating logos for other people, so I hope I get better at that as well. The art world has been a journey for me but I hope I get better and stay in it.
